Urcite v Part.magic -> Unhide
U FDISKu si nevzpominam

To znamena, ze puvodni HDD system znal s jinym pismenem a ted nabootoval z
tohoto disku,
ktery je sice asi prvni, ale odkazy jsou na partition s puvodne jinym
pismenem.
(vznikne napr. i pridanim partition pred partition s win2000 apod.)

PC se stale vraci do logon screenu.

2596 » How do I change the System/Boot drive letter in Windows 2000?

If breaking a mirror or adding hardware has changed your System/Boot drive
letter, and you can not change it back in Disk Management, use the following
procedure while logged on as an Administrator:

NOTE: DriveWrong refers to the current incorrect drive letter. DriveNew
referes to the original drive letter.

1. Use Regedt32 to grant Administrators Full Control on
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices, using Security / Permissions. Exit
Regedt32.

2. Using Regedit, locate the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\DosDevices\DriveNew: value name.

3. Right-click and rename it to an unused letter, such as \DosDevices\Z:.
This makes the DriveNew letter available for step 4.

4. Right-click the \DosDevices\DriveWrong: value name and rename it to
\DosDevices\DriveNew:.

5. Select the \DosDevices\Z: value name and rename it to
\DosDevices\DriveWrong:.

6. Exit Regedit and start Regedt32. Change the Administrator permissions on
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices to Read.

7. Check / change the PagingFiles drive letters.

8. Restart your computer.

2616 » You can't log on because the boot partition drive letter has changed?

In tip 2596, the procedure to fix a changed boot/system drive letter
requires that you be able to log on.

If you are constantly returned to the logon screen, use one of the following
3 procedures:

1. In Recovery Console set allowallpaths = TRUE. Use the Recovery Console to
create a Winnt\System32 folder on the drive that that you suspect has been
assigned the original boot partition drive letter. Expand Userinit.ex_ from
the CD-ROM to this fake \System32 sub-folder, as Userinit.exe. This should
allow you to logon and use tip 2596.

NOTE: If the computer is networked, you can use one of the following. If the
computer is NOT a domain member, you may need to map a drive to the 'broken'
machine using net use \\remote_machine_name\IPC$ /user:administrator *.

2. Use Regedt32 on another computer to make the registry changes detailed in
tip 2596.

3. Use Regedt32 on another computer to alter the Userinit value data at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon

from C:\WINNT\system32\userinit.exe to userinit.exe. This should allow you
to logon and use tip 2596.
